Thohira

Organic Farming Technologies

University-developed organic farming technologies for safer produce and more sustainable agriculture.

What is Thohira?

Thohira is an organic farming technology programme originating from Universiti Putra Malaysia. It brings advanced organic and biological technologies to producers, supporting safer agricultural produce and more sustainable farming.

Beneficial microorganisms, biologics and biological processes are at the heart of Thohira. The programme is designed to help producers reduce reliance on harmful chemical inputs, with applications across agriculture, aquaculture, ruminants and poultry.

EXPLORE THE TECHNOLOGY

Crop & animal protection

Biological approaches that support crop and animal health, helping strengthen resilience and protect production.

Full rice panicles and healthy poultry illustrating productive farming

Yield & performance

Technologies designed to support higher crop yields and better animal performance, helping producers improve productivity.

Crop fields beside a river and forest illustrating sustainable food production

Sustainable production

Produce more from less through efficient resource use and farming practices that protect the environment while producing food.

Look for the Thohira mark

The Thohira mark connects produce to our organic farming technologies. It also identifies partner products that contain Thohira biologics or are made using Thohira technology.
